The spectacular underground wonder of the Klein Karoo, the Cango Caves, is 29 km from Oudtshoorn in the Cango Valley. For years the Cango Caves have been on of the most popular tourist attractions and activities in the Oudtshoorn area.
The Cango Caves are situated in Swartberg mountains near Oudtshoorn
Situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the well known Swartberg Mountains near Oudtshoorn, you will find a series of dripstone caverns that open into vast halls of towering stalagmite formations with names like the bridal couple, glass flower fantasy, weird cango candle and the hanging shawl. In totality, the extensive system of tunnels and chambers in the Cango Caves stretch for over 4 km. The section open to visitors, about 1km, takes place as part of supervised tours.
Cango Caves offers Standard and Adventure Tours and guides also speak English, French, German and other languages
Cango Caves is the only show cave in Africa which offers a choice of Standard (easy) or Adventure Tours. All tours are led by experienced, knowledgeable and accredited Caves Guides. Tours are offered in English, but Afrikaans, German, French and other language guide may be available (please check guide availability when making reservations).
Cango Caves offers also a Restaurant, Museum and Curio shop
